As I'm sure you will agree, things such as pre season training programmes should be being set by the coaching staff and not the owner.'"
It’s an absolutely ludicrous idea from a person who has no expert knowledge on fitness and conditioning. The players will be starting pre season training before some clubs in the playoff’s finish their season. With the new format next year all clubs will be playing until October so that will be almost a full 12 months without a break. I think ‘burnout’ next year will be inevitable and I think it could impact very negatively on how we finish 2015. Players are like vehicles, if you constantly drive them too hard it generally leads to problems.
I can understand the Doc is extremely disappointed like the rest of us with how the year has gone but he needs to either trust the staff he appointed to get it right or replace them. Without wanting to name names, I don't think the problem is fitness related it's more likely down to having too many balloons (with history) and/or mercenaries on the payroll.
As a supporter looking in I get the impression that there is a general lack of respect, pride or ignorance by players for the history and heritage of the club. It just feels to me like the club lost it's sole when we moved from the Willows and rebranded in 2013.
