I'm being pedantic here but he didn't perform a legitimate fend, he made a 'legitimate attempt' to fend. He ended up using a forearm to the face and that's why we got the penalty for it. I didn't think it was as bad as some people made out and I think if Johnson hadn't have already been injured, we wouldn't be having this discussion over this many pages. I was never expecting a ban but was maybe expecting a warning about his technique for the future.
