| Cas would love to sign Marc sneyd! But he would only count as 100000 on our cap no matter want we offer him, thus giving us the upper hand.

| If the young lad keeps playing the way he is, then surely one the big boys, will come in for him.
He has looked a class act, so far this season, but the season is long. let's see if his performances levels can be maintained, before we blow to much smoke up backside.

| Wouldn't Sneyd count on the home grown quota?
Surely then if his progress continues we will keep hold of a very talented player who's wages (or a good part of) won't count towards the quota.

| "you read the Interview with DR in express today ? He absolutely slates Noble For your teams "unacceptable performances" slagging off a well respected coach publicy that is held with high regard in the game"
My bold
Either you do not know the meanings of these phrases and so think it makes the message better to use them, or you are telling porkies. I read the paper and saw NO evidence of what you say.
Mind you, it is the season in agricultural areas to spread muck.

| and yet another Salford board thread spectacularly descends into pathetic arguments. You lot could start an argument in a children's hospice.
5 games in, had some fantastic discussions with up-coming opposition supporters on THE GAME ITSELF, not even gonna bother with this one cause nobody on here wants to discuss rugby league. (apologies to the guys who for about 3 posts of these 6 pages were comparing 9's - it made for pleasant relief)
Calling people "keyboard warriors" is the most ironic thing I've ever heard - if you venture onto other boards for a look, none of this happens elsewhere.

It would be fine if the threads stayed on topic instead of drifting-off into fictional rants. That's my biggest beef, and tbh I've probably been guilty of it myself. I'm personally just bored of reading oppositions fans 'expert opinion' on my Club on every thread. Why don't they just start a thread with an obvious title like 'My Opinion on everything Salford related regardless of whether I know what I'm talking about'. Or some such. People can then ignore it happily and get on with talking about RL.
Besides, Dave, nobody is forcing you to read the Turkey. If you don't like the discussions here you could always go away. Makes a little more sense.
'I can't stand the discussions on this board. I'll post some more on here.'
Doesn't make much sense does it?

You think it's bad now? Compared with what it was like in the dark days of a year or so ago, it's like the Cambridge University Debating Society now.
The problem we have is with the two Marwans. The first Marwan - the one I like to think of as the [ireal[/i Marwan - says things that, often, make a lot of sense. The second Marwan - the one that exists solely in the heads of opposition fans - brags that he'll break the salary cap, slags his team and his coach off in public and generally eats babies and puppies. Opposition fans - like the numbut from Wakefield who derailed this thread - just come on here to talk about their pretend Marwan. Having experienced this for nearly a year now, it all gets very, very tedious.
So, shall we get back on track?
I can't see Salford winning this one. We've been pretty disjointed recently, and the constant chopping and changing of the team due to injuries really isn't helping. If Rangi does come back for this one, it's yet another change to an already unsettled team. Although his presence will improve the team in the long term, I can't see him having much impact this weekend.

| The reason 'm on here is to discuss Sunday's game - as soon as it starts it descends into chaos which is irksome...
I'm willing to accept you aren't all at fault, of course not - but when the bait is dangled (and it is regularly, granted), boy is there a bend in the rod!
ANYWAY............. my attempt is thus:
Sunday for me is all about the halves - if Smith and Chase click then I think you'll be the first team to beat us this year by 14. If not I can't see where else we get beaten, our pack has been sensational thus far and without Hock you're lacking a bit of oomph.
In actuallity I'd be more worried about a 6/7 of Fages and Chase - of your three half backs I think Fages is your solid dependable one, but I fear he won't get the game time he deserves cause they other's are on big bucks to play and win games, not carry water bottles.
How has Tasi been going? I've heard conflicting opinions.... Huby has been the form front rower in the comp thus far IM(biased)O and has been giving Clark some fantastic PTB's - a partnership that has been fantastic for us.
In your televised games you looked to be playing a fairly "bland" style of rugby which should change this week - all involved have had a rocket up their bum from DrK so a big performance is due.
That being said we were nullified by some really good defence by Hull last wekk who, if they were a really top side, would've taken their chances to put us to bed.
Close to call, on current form I fancy us by 2 scores, on potential I fancy you by 3

It would be nice to think that Chase and Smith will click straight away, but I can't see it. So far this season they've only had 20 minutes together (in competitive matches), so they've got a lot of catching up to do. And that's assuming Chase is fit, of course.
I think Cas will win it in the forwards. Tasi and, particularly, Harrison Hansen have been impressive so far, but we're really missing Gareth Hock's power and offloads. The rest of our pack are more "solid and dependable" rather than spectacular, and given Nobby's apparent predilection for going through the forwards, it hampers our attack a bit. That said, both Jordan Walne and Jason Walton have looked good in their brief spells in the second row recently. Walton hobbled off last week though, so he's probably yet another absentee.
