| I can't see him wanting to come back really. Regular place at Cas and smashing it. Why come back to Salford and be a second or third choice. A big mistake letting him go and thought so at the time. He was one of our best attacking players last year. Yes, he made mistakes but having said that he was heavily involved all over the pitch.

| I think it could actually prove to be a decent move in the long run. If he was still here he would be playing second fiddle (because Noble seems to prefer Smith, Chase, Theo at the moment) and not improving as a player, so he gets a year of regular first team appearances and then we get him back a much better player (I'm hoping that will be the case).
It would be like adding a new signing to a team that will have had time to gel, plus by the end of this season all our current players will have had enough time to prove themselves and we will know who is not good enough and needs replacing.

| The loan move made perfect sense. Look at the kid, he's playing week in week out and putting in some class performances by all accounts. What would he have been doing at Salford? He wouldn't have got in ahead of either Theo, Chase or Smith. He might have got a spot on the bench if he was lucky.
Nobody would envisage how good a start he would have, but id much rather him be pulling trees up at Cas knowing he's under contract and back at Salford next season rather than us released him.
We should have enough quality in three half backs we have for this loan deal not to affect us this season.

Signed a 2 year deal ending in 2015 towards the end of last season.

| If he's good enough to start for Cas (5 wins from 5) then it's a bit rich for our fans to be saying he'd be lucky to get a bench spot for us. You could argue that we'd be better off if we'd shown some faith in him and used the money saved to sign a decent hooker.
Early days yet though and the wheel could turn back in our favour when Chase returns. Wouldn't bank on Sneyd returning to Salford, although will Cas be able to afford to sign him? Every good performance he puts in will see his value increase.

And every player who turns marwans head will put it back down again, as Salford "need the cap space" ...

| I set up a Marc sneyd thread on here 3 week ago, he's just getting better all the time. Can't see his valuation being too huge because won't he only have a year on his contract? Plus how does smith chase fages sneyd fit into 4?

Fages and Sneyd are both having game time.
Let the better player prevail

But Sneyd would have been lucky to get a bench spot with us this season, hence why the club made the correct decision and loaned him out. Before a ball was kicked I guarantee you not one Salford fan would have put Sneyd in our starting 17 ahead of either Rangi Chase or Tim Smith. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I doubt anyone would have envisaged Sneyd playing as well as he has and Cas winning 5 out of 5.
I see no reason why, if Sneyd keeps improving and putting in good performances he won’t be back at Salford next season.

| Agreed MR but in this make or break season it really is barmy to allow him to play against Salford. Very poorly constructed contract it seems.
