| The report I'm referring too is one I'm sure I read about where lasers/high powered torch beams have been directed at the Police helicopter from the protestors camp, what I'm sure (if the reports are true) they didn't consider is the flight path coming directly over areas of population and what would happen if the helicopter came down. I can't see the report of the flare firing incident being fabricated, I'm not the biggest fan of the Police but I would take their word over that of the protestors.
As was discussed previously there are reports to suggest fracking caused minimal environment damage that suits one side and different reports that suggest significant damage that the other side find helpful to their cause. My own feelings is that it should be fully explored and exploited to help provide fuel for future generations.
I'll admit I didn't know that there was a number of free parking spaces on the stadium site, my main point was the fact that the SMC have been advised that there would be issues caused by charges being made to anyone visiting the camp for protests, though you would have thought that protestors worried by the environmental impact of fracking might also be concerned by the damage the pollution of their cars.
My point being is I find it strange on match days that charges are made to people attending games when on other days people who are using the parking facilities for nothing other than sheer convience are allowed to park free of charge.
I wasn't charged for parking, as a member of the gym I get free on site parking, if there was extra charges for this I would not pay, in the same vein as I would not pay to park on match days in principle.

| Iam thinking about using Barton airport for parking this season, or at least till things sorted out at the ground.
Couple of questions,
1. How much ???? does anybody know ???? and can you book in advance, if so has anybody got a contact number please.
2. Whats the best time to get there??? was thinking maybe 1.30 for the first match, or would that be a little bit too late????
thanks in advance for the info.

| It was £5 last season , not seen anything to say otherwise for this year . From past experience your arrival time wold be fine .The only sticking point is the new traffic lights on Peel Green roundabout which at the moment can cause chaos at any given moment .

Is that the case? not been able to attend the gym since they have been turned on and am curious as to what impact they have.
Not seen any feedback from the Sale game on Friday regards them either.

In my opinion the new traffic signals at the Peel Green roundabout are a vast improvement compared with the previous system.
Admittedly I have only used them on an evening at 16.30 going towards and past the stadium and at 19.30 coming back towards the Peel Green roundabout but it is much safer and you have a better chance of negotiating the roundabout than before and it must be also safer for pedestrians who are trying to get around the area to the stadium.
Once people get used to the traffic lights things will improve even more.
I would park at Eccles ARLFC rather than the Airport though.

| Don't have a problem with the lights Things have settled down somewhat since the lights were switched on but apparently the technology that runs them predicts traffic flow for example they know what`s going on in the rush hour. and act accordingly . The match day traffic may or may not be a shock to the lights system . No doubt we will find out on Sunday.
