All those people getting hot under the collar about attendances should bear this in mind.Salford have had 40 years without success,40 years of false dawns,40 years of ifs, buts and maybes.There will be a good crowd for the first game but not a great one.
Rugby League isn't on the agenda for most people at the moment as there are no games on.However people will buy tickets much nearer the game.
To get much bigger crowds on a consistent basis will only be achieved by regularly winning.It has been seen before when Salford had a modicum of success crowds went up.Regular success will bring people in.We have been told far to often that this is the new dawn only for it to be strangled at birth.Win and win often and they will come.

You are assuming the Salford public have not been attending for years because of a mediocre team but there’s much more to it than that. For instance many have been brought up to watch football and simply don’t like watching rugby. In comparison towns like Wigan, St Helens and Castleford have a tradition of influence that passes down the family generations. A major disadvantage Salford has is having two massive football clubs on their doorstep and many more recreational options to spend their money on.

No disrespect intended to other clubs in smaller towns but their local leisure budget options are much more limited.
