| One thing you can say about him, was that he was consistent. Consistently bad, yes, but at least he was bad for both teams.

| I remember sitting in a bar in Perpignan a couple of years ago watching the Wigan v Warrington game with my (then 7 year old) son. The only seats free were with Robert Hicks and Steve Presley who were going to be Ref and Video Ref respectively for our game the following evening.
Alibert was the ref for the Warrington game and there were a least a couple of decisions in that match where, at first glance, it appeared that he'd made the wrong call but on watching the replay, he'd been bang on. In fact, he was really good all through the match, backed up by some very interesting insights from Robert Hicks and Steve Presley. I dare say if you had asked any Warrington or Wigan fans what they though of Mr. Alibert's performance that night, they would have given a much different view of his performance which proves that our views on referees, as fans, are probaly always tainted!
I have to say that both Hicks and Presley were great company that night and talked to my son about the game - his response to Robert Hicks though? - 'You'd better not be rubbish tomorrow!' Class.
