It seems that all sports (outside cricket and Union) so fill their stars with self- importance that years later, they still expect a good living from that sport. By watching sport (and paying for that privilege) means I am supporting this malaise and do not know the answer.

I agree with you Iain, with how the game was played back then he was a really good player very good at spotting when to back up the break when he knew it was going to lead to a try (which isn't easy to do) I don't think his style would fit into today's game but as I said the style of the game back then was perfect for Schofield.
