1, A decent coach. I don't rate Noble one bit, he had everything at his disposal with Wigan and what did he archive? As soon as he left Maguire took over and made Wigan into a trophy winning squad.'"
He didn't do too badly at Bradford, and he completely transformed Crusaders. We've seen his influence at Salford, because we've been a far better team since he took over. But Marwan's a direct kind of guy. If he thinks Brian Noble isn't doing the job, he'll be replaced.

2, A Leader. Good pair of halves yes. Leaders? No! Thats why captaincy hasnt been with them both this season. Where is the ball playing Sinfield, O'Loughlin, Briers,Holdsworth to lead them around the field? For me Chase and Smith are brilliant individuals but are too alike, its rather one or the other, not both. Morley will lead with his actions but not a rugby football brain like the others mentioned.'"
Other people think Smith and Chase complement each other. It remains to be seen, but I suspect Tim Smith will be the player who will lead them around the field.

3, Depth. Injuries hit and as it stands you'll be outside the playoffs.'"
These twelve signings will be joining the, as yet unspecified, members of the current squad who are being retained. I don't think strength in depth will be a problem. And there may be more signings to come.

Smith and Chase are nothing alike. You clearly don't watch them.
Smith organises the team and can pass a ball long or short as good as anyone I've seen. He isn't really a runner though he isn't slow. He can't tackle. Good short kicking game average long kicking game
Chase is a runner who picks a pass if it is on. He is an exceptionally evasive runner. He can tackle and has a kicking game though doesn't really use it.

Correct.

Correct. O'Loughlin leader with ball playing ability as demonstrated recently
And if you get the injuries Leeds, Saints, Wigan have had this year then with academy to call upon, you're screwed. Sorry if the truth is painful. And unlike others I do want to see Salford in the top eight with the others knocking 7 bells out each other, more exciting games the better.

Well i respect your opinion but we obviously watch a different game so lets agree to differ.BTW you are underestimating some of our academy players and the other 13 guys who will make the 25 man squad. All will be revealed in 2014.

Ha, I bought it as it was so 'Salford like'. Salford have the most impeccable squad either code of Rugby has ever seen.

Rubbish. Noble has won loads and Smith will lead them around the park well and will allow Chase to play to his strengths. Also, there's plenty of decent players already at the club that will provide more than reasonable depth.
The only thing I can see from the team a couple of posts previous is the lack of a proper hooker. Tommy Lee is reasonable back-up (at a push) but Salford will need a much better dummy-half.

| Interesting opinions RhinoNiel, all welcome on our forum, but they are what they are......your opinions. Now you may well be the most knowledgeable Rugby League fan around, or you may not have a clue, either way you are entitled to your opinions, and I for one will consider what you say, but will reserve my judgement (not opinion) until next season. Still happy we are now sparking debate rather than the usual ridicule fans of other clubs have posted here in the past.
