Good call. I know Kevin was really nervous before that game. He said that his goals were to not make errors.....and make sure no one ran over the top of him.
He ticked those boxes, his first one on one tackle was on a Prop forward....that's typical locke....small guy starts the game racing in and trying to put a hit on a Big player.
That would be the most dummy half passes Lockes made in a game in his life...there was nothing dynamic in it....he only had one Dummy half burst.....quite an unselfish mature display from a guy getting twenty minutes to claim a spot in the top side.
A lot of players in his position would have tried to over cook it.
Kevins a Fullback through in through as you say that's where you play him. He's a very good winger ( underrated by many for reasons I won't bore you with )
In terms of versatility it's the play at Six that Locke provides as emergency cover in games that makes him a valuable insurance clause in a team ( you probably know Locke grew up playing 6. )
He's been training at as well ( last week we got early word McFadden was running him at Hooker and in the NRL).
While there is limited serious consideration for Kevin playing outside the Fulback / Wing positions.....it gives options reshuffling to cover injury.
