| I thought Chase's contract with Cas was up at the end of this season anyway ?
So there would be no transfer fee involved. (Or am I mistaken)

| Quote Dettoriman="Dettoriman"Plenty of positives for you.
My mate has just been to the Man of Steel dinner.
There is an offer on the table for Rangi, Nothing signed, And no deal has been agreed with Cas although there has been a discussion. Rangi was asked about the move, And replied, He won't be at Cas all of his career, And has a young family to look after and will do whats best for them.
I just hope if Cas are going to have to give in, They make Marwan pay the right price for the 2nd best player in the league. Baring in mind his contract is still worth 400k. - I hope even more so, He decides to stay at Cas.'"
I couldn't agree more about the Doc paying the right price, I said the other week the Docs ability to buy players for cash is a potential kick start to other teams filtering money back down the chain to the lower leagues. I see that Hull KR have offered cash to Wakefield for the bellend so maybe the SL teams are starting to look at paying transfer fees which for me can only be a good thing to kick start the financial side of RL over here. It's not without question that a wealthy supporter of a team could offer to pay a transfer fee for a player their club wanted and that then wouldn't have any effect on the salary cap.

| You are mistaken, Rangi Chase is contracted until the end of 2015! - On £180k a year at Cas.
And, It could be good for the game, If clubs like ourselves breed our players, Rather than letting them go for a pittence, If clubs are feeding funds back down, it can make the whole league stronger.
I hope Cas play hard ball, And ask for £500k. Its not going to look good for Koukash if Chase agrees terms, Then he can't bring him to the club as he won't meet an asking price, After all. With Tomkins on his way out, Chase is the best player in the league.
But, There is still an option to return home.

I think if you read or listen to interviews with Chase, he now sees the UK as home.
£500k is over the top. If a fee has been agreed, it will be around £300k.

I agree 500k in this climate is totally unrealistic considering Salford only got 50k for Joel Moon from Leeds.

| Joel Moon didn't have £400k of contract left
Cas aren't on the brink of going under
And Chase is 3 times the player Moon is
The figure thought by Hull last year was to be 350k. That was for an unhappy chase. So that won't be far off, I just hope we hold firm. If you want him. Pay for him. If not, Try and get a player as good.

If it was £350,000, you're not going to an extra £150,000 one year later for a player with 1 year less on his contract though!

| Can i just clarify that discussions over a players price are not officially decided on this forum. People on here talk as if they are at the negotiation table themselves with the Doc and Cas. Its just your opinion remeber you have no control or power over this

| Thank you for the clarification. Phew! I was getting carried away with myself then.
In future, I will remember to not discuss anything on this discussion forum, until it has been discussed and agreed, via a discussion, by Stanley.
What the hell was I thinking, giving an opinion on a previous post? Tut tut, Geoffrey...
