We might have money, but we are yet to be able to offer the chance to win sliverware, and still lacking behind the scenes in terms of training facilities, sports science etc to attract the younger players. Plus its not as if we have a core of good, battle hardened, winners to call upon. I wouldn't mind if we did bring in a few solid if not spectacular players, along with a marquee signing or two next year so long as the length of the contract is right. The focus should be on raising the standard, competing in EVERY game, and making the 8. If we can do this along with developing our backroom resources, by the time these players are ready to be moved on, we'll be a much more attractive club, with our own youth coming through. That will allow us to be more selective with replacements.

I'm not saying it isn't true, and if it is there'll obviously be consequences. It just seems like strange timing to come out and say it now.

Why not go public when they supposedly first came to find out about it and name and shame?

By coming out with this a day after selling Smith to us kind of just looks like double standards, as if to say: 'Yeah, we think you've tried to tap up some of our players but we want your money, so we'll let you buy him and then complain about it in the press a day after the deal's been done".

Should be interesting what happens going forward anyway.
