Ken Gill could make the ball talk.: |
|
| The main points I remember rather randomly are:-
* The new management team is undertaking a thorough review of all structures and systems, both rugby and management related. Every employee is accountable.
* Any player of quality who can improve the squad is a realistic target. This is no idle boast, but was almost understated as a matter of fact.
* Graham Lowe and Andrew Chalmers are based in Auckland but will have four or five spells each year in Salford. They have very good contacts in Australia and New Zealand.
* The club is exploring the possibility of some sort of link with the Gold Coast Titans, though is not sure what this may involve until talks have taken place.
* There are plans afoot to try to attract the best young British talent.
* Talks continue between the good doctor, Peel and the Council to secure a way forward on ownership / joint ownership of the stadium and surrounding land. If we are able to, we hope to be able to train at Barton and develop a Centre of Excellence for young players which may well include accommodation etc.
* Relations between the club and the Stadium Management team are good, as are relations with Peel.
I've probably forgotten points that others may wish to contribute as there was lots of talk about parking, the match day experience, the Fans' Bar and pricing and the role of loan players.
What amazed me was how much the new team seems to have realised and started to put into practice in two weeks. I am also certain that the new Management team is strong, able and determined. I left the meeting in no doubt that we are going to be a force to be reckoned with in Rugby League in the not too distant future. It won't happen overnight, but I am certain it will happen.
I see the Salford Reds arising!

| I'd not want to watch the dancers from Long Legs doing that never mind anyone else.
A bit too gimmicky really. I think the club should use the Loserbook page to get people's ideas or thoughts on match day enetrrtainment. The interviews in the fans bar Sunday were a good idea.

Honestly, if you find this kind of thing even remotely funny, turn off your "Mrs Brown's Boys" DVD, take off your novelty Daffy Duck tie and have a long hard look at yourself.
"Oh it's just a bit of fun, Lighten up."? No. Shut up. We're Salford RLFC, not Manchester "Please love us, look we're doing something funny! PLEASE LOVE US!" City. We're a great club with a proud history and, for the first time in my lifetime, the potential for a great future. Leave the two-months-behind-the-zeitgeist novelty internet dances and inflatable bananas to the laser blue clowns.'"

When did i ever mention City?????? if you look, Wigan,Dewsbury, Wakey,Cronulla and even the Crystal Palace cheerleaders have done it. its just a bit of fun which would promote the team spirit in the camp very well. i just asked the question to Highto when things were getting a little stale just to lighten it up a bit. Another answer to your quote earlier Walshy, i also asked how Theo was doing. was that another question that you did not like?? not that i give a toss anyway.

Your in dreamland if you think Leeds and Salford would merge that will never happen: |
|
| Is there a banging your ahead against a brick wall smiley? I would imagine being paid on time whilst playing for a club capable of challenging for trophies might help out with team spirit, and have the added advantage of not making us look like a bunch of total nobbers. Why on earth would we want to copy something Wakefield, Dewsbury and the Palace cheerleaders have done? Dewsbury. Seriously?
You didn't mention City. I brought them up as they were the latest wacky bunch of funsters to have done it. They're also 12 points behind a team who have done nothing of the sort.
