A place in the championship

why don't the club try to cut and run, by asking if we could do a swap out with a championship club. Let them take our super league place and we take their place, this would mean that we could stay alive as some for of professional club and take 2 - 5 years of rebuilding then apply for a license when we are in some form of stable position, dropping down a league has worked to save clubs and helped the to rebuild. E.g Manchester phoenix they dropped ouut of the top flight and rebuilded their club and fan base. As we proved in 2008 fans will turn up to watch a winning team. Although a lot of tickets were free the fans did turn up witch means there is atleast some potential

And all the crippling debts? The Championship club to take them as well as our Super League place?

Trouble with dropping down a league is that Salford barely scrape adequate finance from support and off-field business in SL. Dropping down to the Championship would take a huge slice off corporate and there would be just the diehards turning up to watch. With all due respect you can't see an upturn in turnstile revenue with a Salford v York epic can you? Or a big Firm spending dosh on corporate, especially seeing as corporate spectators are more likely to want to rub shoulders with like minded people such as those who pay over the odds to eat canapes watching Sale get beat again.

I'm not saying that the Club could not exist in the lower leagues, and even thrive. I'm saying that it would end our SL aspirations for good.

so, ontop of the crippling debt's we vote ourselves out of Sky TV sponsorship of 1million pounds per season?
+ the hospitality income that hosting SL games brings , oh and any sponsorship .
I don't think this plan is as thought out as it could be .

Believe me guys The Championship is a far harder place to be than when you lot were down here last time, I wouldn't volunteer to come down here it's a long hard slog back again.
