It says in the local rag that Oldham are going to link up with a SL team, surely its got to be us. Would be great linking up with Oldham as it still produces loads of good young lads i.e. Owen, Sneyd. Also Scott Naylor is their new coach and it would be a good place to send some of our young lads.thoughts?

Prefer it to be united or city with the funds etc..it's our only chance of challenging for any honours in my lifetime...

United don't have any spare funds due to the parasitic owners and city only care about East Manchester and, more importantly, what's in it for them. Both of them now looking beyond the local area to the global market. Add that into the fact that neither of them will really care about RL and we're not going to get a look in.

A link with a 'local' rugby league side would be superb, good for both us and Oldham if it comes off.

I'd think it would be Leeds too, what with Sinfield being from the area and then Barry Mc they do seem to have a connection there.

looking at it as a salford point of view and its a good move Oldham produce some fine young players and if we can get the cream of the crop and fast track them we will improve a lot

But if the shoe was on the other foot and we were force to link up with a superleage team then that might just be the end of it for me. where is the ambition? how are you surpose to be the best team in the world if you cannot get better? i have no pride in seeing rachford or myler possibly picking up a grandfinal winners medal playing for wire after basically learning their trade with us.

But Salford > any other rugby league club so if we benefit from this bonkers plan then so be its a dog eat dog world and i dont want to be eaten
