Being fans does not mean they would put any money into RL.
Besides Rooney is a Leeds Rhinos fan Ferdinand goes to Wigan and not one present United player has to my knowledge ever been near The Willows or Barton.
Even Giggs who played RL as a junior and lives in Salford is a Wigan fan
