| How can we go from being heroes to zeros with such alarming regularity? Every time we put ourselves into position to make a decent run in the league and to attract new/lost support we manage to cock it up big style.
An appalling display of 1st half refereeing from Childs was compounded by an equally appalling display from ourselves over the whole 80 minutes. In some way my ejection from the ground after approx 50 minutes by the stewards for a sustained verbal assault on Childs as he came off at half time probably proved to be a blessing in disguise!

| We weren't even in it. I hope those players are absolutely ashamed of what they turned out tonight. Very poor show. Referee's don't knock on, drop off tackles (in some cases just don't bother to attempt them), or throw hairbrained "offloads" thats all down to the players.
Shouldn't forget to give credit to Widnes tonight either, better team by far, and totally deserved their win.

Childs was bad in the first half, he and his bottle boy got it off me tonight resulting that recording, however i due to the poor eyesight of the two of them there cound not find me. i was right in front of them and i'm large size, it shows how poor the standard of refs are.
however it was the team that lost it or did not play.

| Quote Adamjk="Adamjk"Some people are optimistic, some people are pessimistic, it's the same with most clubs. Just because some people might not share the same view as you, it's hardly worth getting worked up about what other people think and posting 'I told you so' threads when we lose.
Massively disappointing tonight, every time we had a chance we panicked and lost the ball. Think we had the ball in their half about three times in the first 40 minutes and knocked on all three times. Referee's shocking 1st half performance was irrelevant by the end of it, we were that bad.'"
The "I told you so" theory may subconsciously be right, it might be because repeatedly on this forum I state facts (sometimes been removed) yet a certain clique refuse to believe it. Like yourself I'm massively disappointed, after all the fisty-cuffs in the 1st 20 minutes, the Widnes players where willing to fight for the crest on their jerseys whilst the Salford players weren't up to the task. Gibson and Williams happy they've got new contract? Gleeson not bothered he's moving on after being refused a new contract offer. Felt for Sneyd tonight again, is it nerves? When listening to Vievers talk about the kid to me is seems he doesn't fancy him, maybe that's influencing his performances. Chances of Mr Long putting a jersey on next week? Hmmm....

Long at Hull
and this what PV said
Salford coach Phil Veivers said:
"Credit where credit is due - Widnes came with a game plan and stuck to it.
"They gave it to us and we used a lot of energy up in the first half defending.
"They had 10 sets more than us in the first half and we were probably lucky to be only 24-0 down at half-time. We vastly under-performed
nothing about some players should never play for us again

| Stayed away from this board most of the season because of the ridiculous negative nature of it all - came back to post a couple of weeks ago after the Wire performance because I genuinely felt this team, followed by the KR grit, had shown they had something close to what the board are paying them. Tonight was a slap in the face to big Phil, to Longy, to Mr Wilkinson & the board, and was symptomatic of the attitude of modern players who cry on Twitter before taking responsibility themselves. Once we were behind, we gave up. We don't have a divine right to beat anyone, and I am a realist who understands that spending a few bob on a team doesn't mean we're gonna be world beaters, but after 40 years loving and watching the brilliant moments and the rubbish, I am struggling to remember any team, no matter how e, that threw in the towel so easily. It's not the end of the world, we have still made tremendous progress in the last 3 years thanks to the owners willingness to throw their money away, and as a result of this we are in Superleague and should remain so despite all financial reality, but I can rarely remember a performance in the last 42 years where I thought the players on the park didn't deserve to wear the shirt I love

| Quote Adamjk="Adamjk"What a pathetic post.
You're 'glad that we got beat' just so you can make some childish point to get one over on people? Typical of a section of some of the posters on this forum of late.'"
To be fair mate, its not a pethetic post its a truthful one. Why do we bother? Whats the point? Today was disgusting and the players need hanging simple as.

| As always with Salford, it's one step forward, then ten steps back. We could probably beat Hull next week, then concede 50 to London
