well I guess the obvious answer is we can't afford what he was asking for. If money is tight they may have felt what we do have is better spent on other areas? We did table an offer for Smith to re-sign and he chose Wigan. Williams, Gibson and Ford have all been given new contracts - so maybe they are just picking who they can afford & who fits in? I guess that Long signing on as a player means we are not searching for any new half backs right now... Sneyd + DJ with Long as cover for injury / loss of form?

In fairness to the lad I don't think a comment like "I've come here for an extra twenty-five grand a season" would have endeared him to the rovers faithful. 
Remember the Feka comment when he signed for us two years ago? " We will definately make the playoffs" When the reality was . . Wigan didn't want me anymore so I've come here.  |

TBF to Gleeson, he was hurt early doors but he had what you could call a bit of a mare.
We were absolutely on fire tonight but didn't expect the result we got as you lot had also been in form of late. Stick with it - I hope you get out of the sticky spot you're in at the minute.
