| If the clubs sell DJ, thats me done!! i won't watch them if they see their best player, he is as good as I have seen in over a decade and to sell him for such a pitiful sum would be the end of the line. If they run their contract out I can just about deal with it but to sell him would be suicide!! Having watched the exiles you can see what a great player he is behind a decent pack a true aston martin player who makes if look eassy, come on salford lets give him the platform to spin his decks!!

Not necessarily. If the club and Holdsworth agree to a release then there would be no fee at all.

Would Arsenal let Robin Van Persie go on a free this summer to Man City or Man Utd? or do you think they would get the biggest fee possible for him before his contract run down?

I wouldn't get too carried away with the performance in the Exiles match. Let's be honest it was a second string England that were very poor. I've seen bigger hits in a game of tick and pass.

They'd try to get the biggest fee. Daniel Holdsworth however is not Robin Van Persie and RL (thankfully) is not football.
Some clubs/chairmen/coaches wouldn't want a player who isn't fully committed and so would let him go and release his wage on the cap.

So any sought after player who's contracted and has the possibility of a pay hike at another club just has to say I'm are not commited anymore and the contract isn't worth the paper it's written on? Let's get real here.

In some instances yes. That's why players leave clubs when they're still under contract to go back to Australia or elsewhere.

Well unless you know of someone willing to put a significant investment into the club then what the hell do you expect?

| Interesting to read Shaun McRae say that Holdsworth has a year left on his contract and then the option of extending that, is that option in our favour or his? If it is in ours I would say that is quite a good starting position to either extend his contract (and up his wage) or negotiate a larger fee with another club. Does anybody know about this option?

straight from the cheats mouth, I would expect this sort of statement from some one who follows Wigan a team caught cheating more times than any other SL club, and poss over the SC again with Matty's signing.

| Players leave for three reasons, they don't like where they are,the club don't want then any more,or more money.
Matty Smith left because he thinks Wigan offer more chance of winning things, and money. If Daniel Holdsworth leaves
and I think he will,he will go for the same reasons, and possibly Gleeson went for the same reasons also.If a club want's
to get rid of a player they will even If that player want's to stay,so we cannot talk about loyalty there Is none
Its there living,so good luck to them, the vast majority on here would do the same.
