| I know there seems to be a bit of doom and gloom with regards to Matty's depature but I think we all need to look at where we were only a few years ago. For a long time we were a club that players came to finish there careers,no one ever moved up the ladder from us. Over the last couple of years we have had, steff, myler, jordan and matty move on to bigger clubs. For me this shows an improvement, fair enough we are not holding on to these players yet but it must bode well that a) we are coaching the players correctly but that b)academy lads are looking at salford and seeing u as a club that they can make progress at and move upwards. If you look at our under 20's its scarry really, we have the walne bros, sneyd, owen, fages, evalds, whitehead, holmes, the list goes one! If these boys can make it to the 1st team as they should them what does that say about the academy!!when sneyd moves on then it helps the othe young half backs and pulls them thro and they play more regularly!!!! btw anyone who hasn't watched the u 20's stop going on abot theo! he needs at least 2 years to grow
