Quote: Dantes Inferno "Our defence is poor, but that doesn't mean you go out and employ a defensive coach. Why not replace the common denominator. Afterall if a coach is evidently failing in his defensive tactics he must go. Defence is most important in a coaches handbook. Papering over the cracks employing a defensive coach simply isn't the answer because your coach is inept in defence.
I originally wanted to serve judgement until end of the season but i can't see any improvements made by PV as of yet. The team is in free fall leaking in soft tries which we've been used to over the years and the attack looks stagnated, whether this is down to the players confidence or change of tactics PV is responsible for both. Longy has proved his worth we didn't see the flowing rugby when PV replaced McRae which proves Long's influence in attack. I feel PV was installed through player power and to steady the ship from the Parish debacle but yet again another appointment from this regime looks set to join the other 14 misjudged appointments.'"
So you would rather us ditch the current coaching set up and get another one? come on DI we have had enough going on in the last 12 months what is needed is a period of stability not start the salford Circus again.
Give Phil another year to clear the expensive dead wood (mcraes efforts) and continue to mold his team
Personally defensive is all about attitude and too me the players are looking slightly off lots of challenges ahead both on and off the field so hopefully they will continue to be switched on all season and not start going though the motions.
Offseason we get another defensive coach as tecnically we never replaced MP so in reality an extra pair of hands to coach our players to become better both in attack and defence
