I've read the words swing bridge somewhere but I think I've seen a cgi video of a bridge that opened like tower bridge does. The original idea was that the bridge was going to be built wide enough to carry a future metrolink line, but I'm not sure how an opening/closing mechanism would take overhead power lines.
