What I said is that it there wouldn't be an issue on the motorway as such, the issue lies in the need for lights on the motorway junction. Install them and think it would diminish greatly. What's causing the problem is that because at that time of night very little comes down the A57 from Irlam to join the M60 anti clock wise meaning the traffic coming down from Yorkshire pretty much always has right of way at the actual roundabout, meaning that those coming from Eccles are waiting for a decent Christian driver to let them out. Traffic management is all that's needed.
Do also think that a shuttle from Eccles would help with traffic flow as you see plenty of cars coming down the A57 from that direction and surely a good number of them would jump on a shuttle if they could, wouldn't be hard for the Willows shuttle to pick up on the way through Eccles - though the legalities of stoppin at a bus stop might make this impossible.
