| Is anyone else becoming frustrated with the choice of games that sky pick each week?
I understand that the top four clubs ie. Leeds, Saints, Warrington, and Wigan will usually be on more than other teams due to them competing at the top, but some choices this season have been pretty poor in my opinion.
For the past 3 weeks and then again this weekend Bradford Bulls will be on t.v! Why is this? They are not a team competing to be at the top of the superleague. They do not play an entertaining style of rugby, and they get large attendances at Odsal as it is. Why is it that sky deem it fine for the to be on for four weeks in a row? Not all games have been aginst top clubs so this isnt a reason.
Would it not make sense to put teams with a smaller fanbase onto t.v a bit mroe often than usual so that support and knowledge of these teams expands?
If we keep putting the same top 4 teams, then Bradford on t.v then these teams that already have big followings will also grab the next intake of rugby league fans, cementing their dominance at the top of the pile.
By seeing teams on t.v each week ounger viewers become inclined to support these teams. Its inevitable.
If we were to put teams like ourselves, and other clubs with smaller fanbases that have less income coming into the ground onto t.v, would this not be more beneficial to the game of rugby league?
By putting these teames onto t.v it will undoubtedly help to increase support towards the smaller teams, as people will become much more familiar with these teams. This would then in turn help to incease the amount of people wanting to actually go and watch the game live at the ground. Thus helping thes eclubs gain larger attendances and more money.
Its like a try before you buy in a way.
I also think games involving teams around the bottom of the league playing each other would be much more entertaining to watch. These games can be close run, full of entertainment, with close scorlines, which again would help to promote the game of rugby league, much more than seeing a top four team playing against a teamthat we all know before they are going to win.
Might be a bit of a rant this, but after looking at the t.v listings for the next few weeks, it seems looks like the same teams week fter week.

| I don't want to really watch Wakefield v London or Widnes v say Castleford/HKR and probably likewise for any supporters of those clubs and the top clubs wanting to watch Salford on sky playing any of the above mentioned! I do watch every game that is scheduled for sky when I'm not watching Salford live because I enjoy watching the game in general. I get a bit peeved sometimes when it's say Wigan v Saints on a Friday live on sky and Salford are at home as I'd like to watch both!
I'd say sky aren't bothered in the slightest at increasing attendances for the less well supported clubs hence a Salford V a lesser club than the top four being aired on a Saturday night at 5.30ish!
In any event I don't think constantly showing two inferior clubs more regularly would increase their fanbase.

| This has been a pet hate of mine for a long time. Not from the point of view of raising our attendances as I think that they actually go down for the game when we are on the box.
However, I think it is wrong for Sky to have the top clubs on all the time or the same team on 3 weeks in a row and then not on again for months. I think it gives a really distorted view of what RL is and fails to promote the great product we have.
In addition it is also wrong for them to assume that the top teams are going to serve up a treat. For example, last week I sat down to watch the friday night game and was told by messers Hemmings and Stevo that the Leeds v Warrington clash was going to be "undoubtedly the game of the weekend.... sit back you are in for a treat". What ensued was a niggly encounter where both teams were intent on making the game look ugly and contained no fewer than 32 habdling errors. Hardly entertaining stuff whether it be 2 top teams or 2 Championship 1 sides.
Hull KR v Bradford on the other hand on saturday night was a feast for the eyes. End to end fast flowing rugby and the quintasential game of two halves with an unlikely come back winning the day. Great stuff!
A review of what we wish to promote as superleague is needed and Sky should be told what the RFL and fans want to see. At the moment it would seem to me that they are wanting a superleague of no more than 6-7 teams (and this is not only visible from their schedluing but also their comments in games, where only certain teams can do no wrong and the rest of us are constantly at fault).
