Quote: Dantes Inferno "I totally agree with you. I think blaming refs and officials is totally unfair and pure blinkeredness, the decisions were correct on the night, no doubt. Salford second half display was shocking. no leader when backs are against the wall, and poor discipline giving too many penalties away and also poor ball retension with many errors.'"

Well, well, well, if it isn't Dantes Incapable. It amazes me how you throw the bait so easily and stupidly, hoping for someone to latch on and oppose your pointless, errr..... point!

The decisions were not all correct on the night, for sure. Mr Silverwood called a ball steal. The ball wasn't stolen neither did the opposing Salford player come away with the ball.

That (as pointed out by the entire commentary team at Sky) was the wrong decision. You may wonder why I mention Sky's incompetent, unskilled, inexpert, amateurish, clumsy, awkward, maladroit commentary team. Well had you even bothered to watch it on TV, you would be fully aware that there was at least 1 stone cold mistake by Mr Silverwood. You didn't, because you're an impostor who continues to plague this forum with foul opinions of yet more things you didn't witness. As has been pointed out by more than I care to mention, there were error's made by Mr Silverwood on the night.

As has also been mentioned, This is our club, our board, and our team.

Either fit in...or fook off.

Quote: SaintsFan "Was the Gibson effort the one when Andy Dixon got his hand under the ball? If it was then no he didn't, as Andy Dixon quite clearly had his hand under the ball. James Roby touched the ball down at the tip, and it's as clear as day on the Sky recording.

We were disallowed Makinson's attempt. On another day that might have been given and but for one angle which showed daylight between his hand and the ball at the wrong time it might have been this time too. Likewise, you had the decision about the first knock on of the match but I say that didn't go backwards.

No good blaming the ref. Silverdud is useless for anyone and everyone. The only mistake I can definitely say he made in our favour is the one where he totally missed Wilkin's knock on at the PTB.

At the end of the day, although you played very well in the first half and showed glimpses again in the second, our forwards stepped up in the second, we stopped playing laterally and we took our chances (bar three occasions when a player made a wrong choice for a pass). We deserved our win.

Salford need to get their defence and match fitness/attitude sorted (ie it's an 80 minute game) but based on their showing at our place they look a much better side than the one which turned out last season.'"

at the end of the day your 15,000 fans got dealt with of 200 Salford fans.

What I saw on Friday night reinforced my resolution not to travel away to watch Salford. This is partly because of the regularly hammerings we have had over the past 20 years but mostly because time and again we get hammered too by the match officials.

You can call it a seige mentaility if you like but the bottom line is far too often we end up on the fag end of the penalty count. I would not mind if we were dirty but we're not, it's the never ending last tackle offsides and holding down calls by incompetent and unfit officials which get to me when we are no more the offender than the opposition. Another all too frequent aspect often overlooked by supporters is where the penalties take place, the majority of those we get occur deep in our own half on the first or second tackle, invariably the opposition are awarded their's on half way on the last tackle.

Friday Saints deserved to win and of course as a Salford fan I am bound to be biaised but the ball steal. offside and knock on calls, not to mention a forward pass from dummy half that we were punished for whilst Roby managed to get away with for 80 minutes all leave a nasty taste in the mouth, not to mention the near decapitation of Gibson in the act of scoring a try that even the one eyed commentators were astonished went unpunished.

For the record in 27 matches last season we had the worst of the penalty count in 22 matches and the unedifying sight of the officials awarding us 4 penalties in the last 2 minutes to try to make the count look more even when the damage has been done fools no-one.

Expect nothing but the same on Sunday where I expect Widnes to be given every chance to win the match - but then maybe I am just cynical, or maybe I am a Realist.

You named yourself a realist with these scrutinies. Your world's seemingly rosy. So every referee must have a prejudiced agenda against us. So why atttend games whatsoever

Quote: Dantes Inferno "This is MY club too i'm afraid, i just see it in a totally different shade than you. Have you tucked up your relative in bed early tonight.? Or is he out on the plss? Ha Ha He plays like he's been on the plss......

Talking of imposter's. i see you watched the game on sky, Well you would of seen the massive impact adamson had on the game last night and the castleford game. Ha Ha Ha keep spreading your drivel on this forum he can't walk the walk........'"

Your efforts at demotivation appear to be working.
The massive impact by Luke Adamson was reported by this weeks Rugby League Express as the highest tackle count of any player on the field at 47.

Excellent post,The Realist,
A thread on the VT is also alluding to the PTB's not being from the mark where Salford are concerned etc.
