Quote: Iain "I'm fairly sure they don't. For the last few year that has been kind of the case with the Championship games - but the club hasn't been given cash, they were given sponsorship to allow them to gie out free tickets.
As far as I know, the only direct (i.e. apart from the general awareness given by being in the shop window) financial benefit to a club of being televised would be that perimeter advertising has a higher value for for those games.'"
Championship clubs on SKY recieved £ 4,000 in cash but had to give out 200 free family tickets [ essentially to the value of £4K ] and £1,000 which had to be spent ' marketing ' the game , receipts for both expenditure were to be supplied on request
This was the money from the Co oP sonsorship , we dont as yet know if the clubs will recieve any monies for Premier Sports coverage if the Co oP sponsorship continues , as it was tied into the SKY deal ?
