Lance I believe the Chairman when he says that he would sell the club if the right person came along and I equally believe that if he did sell the club people such as yourself would be on the Turkey over him "selling out".

As I see the position,just my opinion mind you,our present board members came on board because they respected the Chairman and I feel that if John Wilkinson left, the others may follow"another sell out"and more posts.

I cannot think of another person who would take the stick as the Chairman has done, without wanting to walk away from it all and lets face it some of his critics haven't exactly set the world on fire in their lifetimes have they, they probably haven't helped as many people has the Chairman has and never will do.

With regards the Director of Rugby draining the finances of the club, do you know what he is paid,is he actually paid?please fill us in on the details.
If we recruited another Director of Rugby how much would he/she get, would it be more or less that it is now?

Who then? Fred Done may be born here but he will not take over the club. Nor will Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Russell Watson, Elkie Brookes, John Cooper Clarke, Mike Leigh, Robert Powell or the Ting-Tings.

The constant flow of we need someone who will ruin him/herself so "I" can enjoy Friday nights is becoming a sticking CD and makes the same sense.
At least, and very aptly, better the Devil you know rather than the one you do not know.

I have never once heard, read, seen a statement off Jaw regarding putting the club up for sale. I've heard in the past few years he is willing to step down IF, a younger enthusiastic businessman appeared on the scene to take over his reign. But he has never once put the club up for sale, so until he does we can't really take his comments seriously enough, we'll never know how much serious genuine interest is out there until he actually takes the club to market.

DI I'am confused your saying you haven't heard but you have? People who own sports clubs don't step down without selling their controlling interest of shares. Would you let someone play russian roulette with your money or personal guarantees? It's not the norm to advertise a club for sale, these things are usually done privately.

I know of three businesses recently sold which never ever were put up for sale: it's not a house you know.

I recollect hearing the Chairman make the offer of letting the club go if the right person came along, I am sure that it was on GMR some time ago and he has repeated it at Forever Reds meetings when questioned by fans but, and I know that some people will not accept the fact,he does have the club at heart and would only sell if he felt that it would be for the benefit of the club.

This to my mind was in a way putting the club up for sale and there doesn't appear to have been any offers.

If any prospective buyers read this forum I am not surprised.

RedJohn i fully understand your views, but to be honest he hasn't attempted a single PR & Marketing stunt in many a year. It doesn't cost a fortune in his world does it.
