| How many fans on here find themselves in the same situation? If there are a few, then it might be worth setting up a car share / minibus sharing thread as a sticky. I don't drive otherwise I'd happily help out, not sure how I'll be getting there as yet, probably public transport.
Another issue with proposed transport links to the ground: If the Port Salford / Trafford Centre line gets funding as expected, its possible we'll have a stop at the stadium. However, this line would branch off from the Eccles line just after Pomona and run alongside the Canal, as I understand it. Which means having to travel away from the ground and towards Manchester to catch that line for many Salford based residents, but further opportunities to expand our fanbase to a wider area. Omens aren't fantastic.

| Although I do have a car it is not always available to me, also having been within walking distance to the willows travelling on my own the cost of petrol & parking would add considerable cost to my journey & I also do not feel able to cope with the chaos there will be trying to get into the car park & out again.
I considered public transport as as a pensioner I do get free bus travel at the moment but obviously this is not an option however I would be prepared to pay a reasonable amount if some transort was laid on in my area or if someone would car share perhaps.
Anyway having said that I was sad for not watching the Simpsons I think I maybe more SAD for continuing to watch Salford for over 40yrs for the way the club is run & for the way they do treat their loyal fans...........

| MargieH alas unlike the old days when many of us used to just walk round the corner, me from Langworthy many of the season ticket owning supporters don't live close to the ground anymore, I reckon and this is just a quess the majority possibly live in the M27 and M30 postcode areas.
I concur that something must be done to get supporters to the new ground but if only 10 people want the transport and not a 100 then the club are in a difficult position. Look at Man City they moved from a mainly blue area Moss side to a mainly Red area Bradford and increased their fans base because they noticed that the local residents were not season ticket holders and the majority lived in other areas, there is still poor public transport links to the ground, with many walking up from Piccadilly.

| I do agree about walking to the ground but years ago public transport was not as few & far between as it is now also I do know that quite a few people are finding it difficult but if Salford themselves who are trying to get more support do not help themselves & at least listen & try to accomodate at least some of the loyal fans from this area then they won't be getting new ones either.
