It's difficult to get enthused, especially, after the let down this season has been. The main problem has been our lack of ability to play at pace, both in defence and attack, but there were signs that when we tried a little harder there was the ability to step up and produce. It just wasn't there for full 80 minutes. Which suggests, the much speculated lack of match fitness would be correct, and Parish's comments on arrival were a clear confirmation of this.
With better fitness levels, a better coaching setup and, hopefully, the improvement McPhersen and Moon will make to our defence, next season could go be more promising than the over hyped season that's just passed. We'd need a proven quality prop to boost our expectations, but I'd say the McPhersen, Moon and Williams are all better than players who occupied their respective position last season.
