I think the idea of a park-and-ride is a good one, but it should be close to a rail station so it can serve two purposes.
Don't know the area well enough to know whether such a site exists though??

£2 to park-and-ride or £5 to park at the stadium should encourage enough people to use the facility without clogging up stadium car parks, whilst allowing the club to make money out of those who choose to take the easy/lazy option.

Can't help but agree we don't need any extras added to the price of attending matches our support is dreadful without more obstacles.

There will be lots of car parking space this should be used to encourage people to attend the game.

As I understand it the club get the ticket revenue, but I'm guessing the stadium owners get the car park income so no incentive whatsoever for them to do tat for free

I think the heads of all concerned partys would need to get together on this and good sense would prevail, like in the case of Swinton precienct where it became neccassary to bring back free parking as it became a ghost town.

Either way I 'll not be paying an extra four quid on top of my Barton experience.

There can be no payment or free of charge but you can not pay nothing.

Personally i think that charging to park would be a big mistake in the first years you are trying to get people to the ground. Especially in this climate of everyone being a bit on the skint side.

Though if they do charge they should offer a prepaid discount scheme or something like that for the season ticket holders, i wouldn't be too aggrieved if it was round the couple of quid per game mark all paid at start of season.
