What have we to lose?

Think before responding... think of the season and the coaching record we have had up to April.

We sign someone who has won the Lance Todd Trophy 3 times,has 4 Grand Final rings,has 5 Challenge Cup Final Winners Medals,2 World Club Challenge Winners Medals as an assistant coach and people moan about his private life.
Welcome Sean,lets hope you can pass on your winning mentality to the current and future squad.

I'm more than prepared to welcome him, as people have said whatever he is he is a winner.

To be honest I'd rather him be pulling the shirt on than standing on the sideline.

It's not his private life I'm bothered about, it's his professional conduct.

However, I'd be delighted to see him prove me wrong and as soon as he puts ours colours on, he's one of us so I'll support him to the hilt.

I did my Level 3 RL Coaches Badge (In Salford funnily enough), and Sean Long was also on the course. He must have only been 17 or 18 at the time, but he impressed me with his awareness of the game, his helpful attitude towards others and his ideas on coaching methods. When I now think of the experience and achievements he has attained in the many years since that time, I am certain that he has all the attributes needed to become a top coach.

I for one am delighted that we have been able to give him the opportunity to start his caoching career at Salford. It could turn out to be a very shrewd investment.
