| As fashionable as it seems to be on this board to say otherwise, I think the club has made great strides in the last 3 years - more so than at any time since I began watching in the early/mid 70's.
And despite the inconsistency of this seasons efforts from the team, and the frustation of that, watching a Jodie Broughton instead of a Paul Cabbage (not a typo) shows we're moving the right way.
But as an ex-player myself, I bore everyone near me every week wondering why we haven't spent a couple of bob on another prop. Ray is superb, & to duplicate his effort would win us more games, simple as. More time for the backs, more points, & less 'erratic' performances. I don't like to single out individuals - I've no problem with the effort levels of most of our other pack leaders - but I remain unconvinced that they are doing enough to prove their worth.
How many times have we controlled a game, or even created space, with the pack this year, especially when the big man goes off for a rest? I'm sure DJ would appreciate a little more time to do his thing. I say give the opposition a little pain, & get another big man in there for next year.

Negs bringing down the tone of your forum? Keyboard Bell-endery tiresome? Embarrassed by some of your own fans?

| I wouldn't disagree with you there.
Hopefully our new boss will bring in some more competition for forwards and help push them onto the next level by becoming a ferocious and dominant pack. Sometimes it's about changing the mentality and technique of current players and making them achieve the next level. A couple of real mobile powerhouse forwards would really help our young forwards step-up their game.

| For me the gamne we have dominated in the pack the most was when we roasted Hull KR when Mason played, what stood out for me was that the young forwards that night then thier blood to water yet we have seen hide nor hair of them since.
Think it is time to give one or two of them another go.
Would be happy to see us go for an old style big unit in the David Young mould rather than a more modern XL sized second rower.
I hope that Parish can get the best out of Feka too as at times he has looked like a waste of money and at others he has looked worse still.
Think Cashmere going will be a massive loss and one we will struggle to cope with unless we really splash the cash.

This is the sort of guy we need
www.cowboys.com.au/default.aspx? ... am=Cowboys
Compare him with Adam Sidlow. Same height according to the official stats on each clubs respective websites, Sidlow weighs in 1kg heavier. Having watched quite a bit of Tamou thanks to the wonders of the internet and Sidlow live the contrast between the two says everything about what is wrong between the two competitions.
One player wants to run onto the ball hard and straight and the other guy ambles up to the opposition hoping the collision is not too physical. No prizes for guessing which player is which.

Yup! Good analysis of the differences in the competitions there. Would quite like to see Tamou in a red shirt myself.
