If anyone is interested in 1970's Aussie Rugby League I can recommend a DVD called Fibros And Silvertails. It's the story of the 1978 season and the feud between Wests and Manly that turned into a war about class and alleged corruption.
It's a fifty minute documentary and also has 3 hours of highlights of the play off series featuring Wests, Manly and Cronulla.
The original release sold out last year but I've just recieved an email telling me that another batch have been made and are on sale now.
I bought a copy last year and thought it was excellent with some of Rugby Leagues great characters such as Les Boyd, Tommy Raudonikis and future Salford coach John Harvey featuring. If you like "old school" Rugby League with plenty of on-field violence then it's worth a look. It's certainly an eye opener to younger fans who've only seen Rugby League in the Super League era.
If anyone's interested there's a website at www.fibrosandsilvertails.com.au
