| Quote TheButcher="TheButcher"There's a few reasons why I would not play him:
1. He's looking jaded atm
2. His head will be all over the place atm
3. If he breaks his leg we don't get a nice big transfer fee
4. We should be looking to develop Ratchford and Smith partnership for the rest of the season.
5. He does not want to continue to play for the club
I'm not bitter about him moving, as most of my posts have been in favour of getting shut due to harsh reality. I just think it should be all about Salford going forward now, not Myler and the club should be looking at where to invest the transfer fee when it comes.'" the problem i have with it all is he was going no matter what we offered if reported and i maybe wrong 120000 a season its a terrific amount for a 30 year old never mind 19 offiah has done is job really well but it could come back 2 haunt him.myler is a 19 year old with 4 months of superleague behind him.if he is going he might aswell go now and we then can go with ratchford and smith for the rest of season

I would say rejecting a huge contract is pretty much a clear sign he wants out.
Whether Offiah said it or not Richie must have some say.
If he starts now at that salary what about next contract negotiations.
Lets face reality here we just can not afford him and he obviously knows this and his worth so will be off

| well he can play on with his current contract, and we can still get a price for him, the loser here is Richie by about £70,000 a year at present.

| The minute you stop playing him is the point at which you reduce the amount we will receive for him.

With no bias, as I understand why Myler would move on to further a very short career, his mind is obviously on the next rung of the ladder. As a supporter I would find it difficult to cheer a player who would continue to play for a team he has no intentions of staying at. Regardless whether his integrity is 100% and he does his best when he goes on the pitch. For Myler, he currently sits in limbo, having not gone but showing his intentions for leaving he can't possibly be a positive influence in the team and should not be part of matchdays.
I would not slag the guy off. He is doing what he feels is best for his future. My concern as a supporter is for Salford's future, which in this case, means moving-on and getting used to life without Myler. Currently, life with Myler being a Salford player but not wanting to be is no good for both sides of the coin.

lets make the most of having him while he is here! people on here are starting to sound like united fans when ronaldo wanted to go, they wanted him to just sit in the stands and rot! Myler is not a salford lad, so why would he show us any loyalty? he didn't show widnes any when he left them! Rugby league is a short career, if i was in his shoes i'd want to get as much cash as possible as well!

That makes zero sense...he's already playing for England whilst with us.
And I don't think there's any tapping up gone on, he was always going to leave us to go to a "bigger" club...whether Wire is the right choice or not is another matter...on the one hand they are a perennial under-achiever but on the other they do appear to be building things to challenge properly over the next few seasons so he could easily be the catalyst for future success.

| Why not get behind Offiah ( [size=59 not literally because he might enjoy it[/size ) and convince him its in his best interest to let Myler stay, Mr Wilkinson I believe has some business assoicates who are very good at this sort of work.
