Seriously, you're spot on.
How the hell people on here expect the club to "show some ambition" (ie. splash the cash), "put their neck on the line" (ie. splash the cash), "put their hand in their pocket" (ie. splash the cash) or "compete for major honours" (ie. splash the cash) when we get an average home support of about 3500 is totally beyond me?!'"

What Cash?
Are you dipping into your pocket to provide it?
Will you guarantee a loan for the club?
Come on folks - get real - the whole Rugby League industry in this country is struggling - sport is an industry and there just isn't enough interest in RL for it ever to lift itself to a level where it can generate the kind of income that is going to sustain a league of top quality full time professionals.
Maybe it's my natural pessimism, or maybe it's too many glasses of red, but when I look at the history of RL over the last 10 years or so and the great names that are now just also-rans (Rochdale, Featherstone, Hunslet, Swinton, Oldham, Widnes and on and on) I really struggle to see a bright future for the sport that we all love.
See you all on the terraces next week (if I haven't cut my throat with the rusty razor by then) !!

the cash he is spending on the museum would do , either make your mind up mr wilky , do you want us to be right up there ? or do you want us to be a feeder club , i mr wilky thank you for what you have done for this great club , but feel we the fans are being treated like mushrooms at times , ie news on the stadium ,offers for richie , who s staying , whos going , lies about pre- season trip , just be honest , thats all we ask , we are all salford and will continue to follow the reds home and away

you simply dont get how the world works do you?
JW has been keeping the club afloat for years...he is able to do that by making sound investments in other areas. salford rlfc is a sunk cost and we're lucky, and should be thankful, that he continues to sink money in!

no you dont get it , salford rlfc make money , if we were running at a lose do you really think mr wilky would be pumping money in season after season , the shirt sponsers etc pump thousands of pounds into the club , the crowd just covers the running of the club , the willows makes profit , replica shirt make profit , spin offs make profit , mr wilky is a very clever man he would not be in it to throw money away , face facts , tell me last time salford paid a transfer fee to buy a decent player ????????

| "salford rlfc make money"
yeh right
No 1 tip by the financial times to support the credit crunch.
Some people are thick - end of story - the explanation in simple English leaves them.
There's only one club in the two top leagues of Super League who would survive if thec sugar daddy left - Leeds.
So get rid of Mr Wilkinson and kiss goodbye to Salford.
I feel some posters know as much about business as AEG.

If you are really Salfords No1 I hate to think what No 10 would be like.
The Salford City Reds are totally reliant on JW, HC and the other directors to keep the club going.
The sponsors do pump thousands into the club but this money and what is taken from the gate, the lottery etc goes towards all the costs involved in running a professional Rugby League club.
The gate receipts dont go anywhere near to covering the running costs of the club.
Since the Bosman ruling very few Rugby League Clubs pay transfer fees for players.

Absolute cobblers - Salford RLFC loose money hand over fist - the last published accounts show that the balance of the profit and loss account went from a deficit of £3.8 million to a deficit of £4.2 million in a year - i.e. lost a further £600,000 in a year.
The accounts also contain the following statement as a qualification by the auditors:
1 B Going Concern
The company has received loans from its parent company, The Wilkinson Corporation Limited, other subsidiaries of The Wilkinson Corporation Limited and pension schemes whose beneficiaries are some of the directors of the company. Without these loans, the company would be unable to meet its working capital requirements. Some of these loans are repayable on demand. However the directors of The Wilkinson Corporation Limited have given assurance that they will not require repayment unless other sorces of funding become available.
If you want to see for yourself - go to the Companies House website - it costs £1 to download the published accounts.

Oh so he can't be allowed to have other interests and investments? Do you wish him to sell Wilkinson Star and invest his life savings just to make a few thousand people happy!
Quote salfords no 1="salfords no 1"salford rlfc make money'"
As a shareholder I am provided with the audited accounts each year and I will I will guarantee you, it doesn't!
I'm not happy about the lack of Stadium news but as it's now owned by Peel Holdings I'm thinking it is they who should be informing the club and then for the club to pass it on to us, if Peel have nothing new to say then nothing will be said.
On the other side of things.
As I've said to a few people the club and the team have really tested me this year (and thats part of the reason my postings on the ST have dropped so much) what with the Stadium, Jacksonville-Gate, the Captaincy fiasco, the Centenary Shirts (or lack of) I could go on. All this has to go and come from the top, its the decision makers who ultimately have to take the wrap for it all and then subsequently hand out a slapping to everyone in their organisation who is involved with any part of it all.
However having a pop at those at the top is possibly the worst thing to do in this current economic climate, because if John, Howard Iain Watson etc walk away and save their hard earned money then we'll really be up shiit creek!
