I don't know what the general web-etiquette is when it comes to quoting one's self but some findings are worth sharing:

Unmissable!'. We designed and printed 5000 leaflets with a great 2 for the price of one offer on it, paid some lovely promo girls to hand them out with a welcoming smile. At the end of the day they had given out over 3000 leaflets and smiles - and the ticket office was open for people to go and buy while they were still there, or they had right up until kickoff to come and buy... I won't make you guess how many were used - it was less than one. '" |

I feel considerably less smug than the originators of threads like this feel aggrieved.
It would be nice to think evidence like this would make people think before launching another multi-page rant about the club failing to act appropriately but we all know if they skipped a chance to leaflet a similar event this weekend this site would once again explode. |

So we try something once, it doesn't work at the first attempt, so rather than keep hammering away for a bit we just give up at the first hurdle? I wasn't aware that's how marketing of any kind works, but there you go, what do I know?

Yep. The entire tone of this thread is fully justified because one day, one of the X-thousand leaflets handed out may be put to good use.
Point being, the club DID act - not on the car boot, granted, but the football event they were lambasted for ignoring. And it achieved the sum total of f*ck all.
I've no idea if this will spur them on to try, try again or give it up as a naff use of resource but here's what I am sure of - this wont be the last thread to celebrate their failings. |

Which is half of my point. If the club just decide to give up on pushing anything then we've no chance of changing the club's image. |

I know a lot of people would like to see the club plastering the city with flyers, but it apparently provides poor returns, and money could be spent more effectively elsewhere to promote the club.
The recent England football game seems to backs that up.
