Yeah the result wasn't great but I'm a rugby league fan and these things happen. This weekend I have taken two football friends on an experience they will never forget. They both couldn't believe so many fans from different clubs can drink be merry and have banter without any trouble. They never believed that people could feel so emotional about an individual and their family when they never met them (Lizzie and the bains). They said the respect fans had for each other was great to see. They couldn't believe that someone would fly half way across the world to watch a rugby match (was nice meeting you bob bob bobbing along in the green man). Yeah the result hurts but due to this weekend these two friends have said they want to come to more rovers matches and have said they are going back to wembley. So as soon as we can we will be booking for next year. I'm a HKR fan for life but most of all I'm a rugby league fan. I'm already looking forward to the rest of the qualifiers and the grand final. Rugby league the greatest game in the world.

Nice one Skeggy. Some people wonder why we are interested in attendances so much. This shows why. A new person won over to the fantastic world of RL is another life enhanced. Say no more.

In 2013, I sat next to some blokes from Watford at the RLWC semi final. Needless to say, they were amazed by it. Three months earlier, they had attended the CC Final (their first RL game). They said they absolutely loved it, but everyone else said it was awful.

Similarly, that year I watched Warrrington take London to the cleaners in Gillingham. We got talking to some blokes in the pub, it was their first RL game. Despite the small atrendances and cricket score, they absolutely loved it.

Why then, do we continue to knock our own product? I think they call it the 'Ratner effect'.

Had a great time, flew over from oz to see my team and whilst the result sucked the whole weekend was brilliant. Leeds fans I met day before were great and wished me luck (what sport would you get that in?) and the amazing emptional support for Lizzie jones was incredible. That the stadium wasn't sold out amazes me, seriously League fans what are you doing?? If we can't support our own game why should we expect the rest of the country to care?

Score aside a brilliant occasion and worth every cent of the $10k we spent being there!
