I have tried to watch this several times but IMO it doesn't work. The aims and efforts being put in are laudable but it just doesn't do itself or the game any favours
Mind you B&A isn't the best it could be either.

I think the version on Made in Leeds is really good. I didn't rate the one that was on Premier Sports as I thought some of 'comedy' bits didn't work. Wayne Godwin pretending to be Beau Ryan was about as funny as Beau Ryan.

But this one is really good presented by two people that clearly have a passion for the game.

I also think it really showcases the players in the game as characters and I like the bits where they go to Amatuer clubs.

I agree with the OP it's better than Boots n All IMO and I also too like JJB as a presenter and interviewer.

Thought Leon Pryce came across well this week (or last - I can't remember as watched them both on Saturday afternoon).

Footy show in oz is the benchmark,rugby am trying the light hearted approach and more in touch we fans tbh

Watched the version that was on premier sports and thought it was awful tbh, Whilst I appreciate what they tried to do for me it just didn't work. iirc everyone on the show was either from yorkshire or based at a yorkshire club and it showed. add in the fact that they couldn't show any highlights and that Wayne Godwin just wasn't funny I didn't watch it again.

Judging by the fact that it's now only on tv in Leeds/yorkshire I'll assume that nothing has changed.

I love the NRL footy show but I'm not sure the game has an high enough profile in this country for something like it to work.

I think something like the Footy Show could work over here, but it needs a major broadcasters production values and access to game footage. Basically a combination of match highlights, discussion about the game in general and some daft bits every now and again. I think the Footy Show format, a panel in front of an RL audience is what makes it work. It makes both the presenters and guests be much less formal and turns it much more into almost like a pub discussion rather than the rather staid, often boring, tv interviews we get with Bootsnall or the SLS.

Only seen it a couple of times on youtube and as much as I like the approach of making it more like soccer am than boots'n'alll I think there are far too many jovial moments between players about what they got up to on nights out together that they can't mention on tv, obliviously nothing wrong with banter in a relaxed format like this but never being in on the joke you just want the conversation to move on but the interviews were more likely to unravel.
So even in a more light hearted show you need more structure to it with more professional presenters and let the former players do pre-recorded Interviews that can be edited into the show.

Absolute trash. Shows the game up, takes the image of RL back to the Eddie Waring days - a minor sport run by numpties. Thank god its only broadcast in the north and we can see it for what it is. Trying to imitate the Footy Show but with classless presenters and I include JJB. Stick to being a second rate DJ Alex. The game needs a weekly magazine sadly this is not it.

Terrible advert for RL and the worse sound ever - totally inaudable at times.
