| Following previous threads on this forum, I guess it is time for an inventory of the actual state of our game in Europe.
So which countries actually do play Rugby League?
Definition of playing:
-1 a regular domestic comp (4 clubs minimum)
-2 a junior development programme
(RLEF criteria for membership)
So here we go:
England
France
Ireland
Wales
Scotland
Serbia
Lebanon
Russia
To a certain extent -Catalunya, in Spain
Anywhere else?
Thank you for your assistance.

Think you've pretty much nailed it.
Always good to see followers of other sports take an interest in rugby league.

| The Rugby League European Federation (RLEF) have announced that the sport is developing in Norway with news that the first bespoke Rugby League club has been formed in the country.
The RLEF say Lillestrom Lions RLK has been created to form part of a four team domestic competition in 2010.

Look, I dont follow the complete and utter bullsh*t posed on forums by over excited kids who think the game is played where it truly isn't.
I think you're just about right with what you have posted.
Outside of England and France, you are only JUST making the cut though.
I'd also say that in the countries you haven't listed, not clubs exist.

Norway: new kid on the block
I would feel a sense of Deja Vu!
A couple of OZ/NZ expat (they've pulled some blonde chicks and ended up being pulled themselves -lol - I'm only jealous),
so a couple of OZ/NZ mixing with a few locals (playing RU, since RU seem much better at development than us), and trying to from an orgnisation:
the proof of the pudding...
we shall see in a couple of years if:
1-there is a sustainable domestic comp: so far no emerging nation -except Catalunya- have achieved this in the RFL/RLEF era
2-there is a significant junior development programme.
Cheers

Rugby league started in Serbia in the 1950's. The Serbian league in it's present guise is about eight years old.
