Certainly no shortage of bitter Whinos on this particular message board discussion. icon_lol.gif

Quote: ThePrinter "Classic case here of you not being intelligent enough to counter debate when your original claim is comfortably picked apart as foolish.'"

What intelligent debate was there to counter? You did the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "la la la can't here you". If that counts as comfortably picking my claim apart then it isn't my intelligence that's the issue. icon_mrgreen.gif

You can mention the leg pull (wasn't even a pull, he just kept hold) but I've see neutral fans seemingly in the camp of the obstruction being harsh/wrong and the knock on being clearly wrong and them not viewing the leg "pull" as anything other than a 50/50. It's just clutching at straws from Wigan fans that if they highlight the leg "pull" it somehow makes Smith's knock on ok.

Pulling the leg of the player as he plays the ball is now 50/50 is it? Lemme guess, penalty when it's done to Leeds, no penalty when it's done by them. d040.gif

You might have a point (for once) if I was sat here saying it's all Silverwood's fault but I'm not. I am debating the decisions which I'm free to do on a message board on a thread that topic is about the ref decisions, if you want to start another thread on here on the VT about the game without the issue of ref calls then so be and discuss the other issues in the game.....also let me guess you've not discussed ref decisions post match now have you?

Quote: ThePrinter "Obstruction

The obstruction was obviously debate able , the rules are open to interpretation and could have gone the other way just as easily. That sounds 50:50 to me!

The knock on was easily missed. Commentators and ref and linesmen all missed it in real time. Sounds like easily missed is pretty accurate.

The leg pull was the most clear cut of the lot.

A pretty fair assessment i think regardless of who you support.

Quote: ThePrinter "He didn't pull his leg though did he, he held onto it. Sargison puts the ball on he ground before he's properly regained his feet which he shouldn't do, perhaps if he didn't it might have been a penalty.

I've no idea either but trying to claim Smith's knock on going undetected is some sort of karma instead of just admitting it was wrong strikes me as clutching at straws.'"

Had the correct decision been made we would have been given a penalty before the knock on ever happened. If you don't accept that what Hall did was illegal then you really are taking bias to a whole new level!

We've all discussed ref issues but come on, it's been 11 pages! You lot have lived up to your nickname. As someone said upthread it's as though you've been on the end of the worst refereeing display in history when in fact he got calls wrong for both sides. Had they only gone one way I could understand the outrage, but they didn't. You scored off a forward pass, you pinned us in our 20 and got the ball back off a dodgy offside call, you didn't get penalised for the interference. The offside call was contentious but was 50/50 at worst and only occurred because of an error on the part of Leeds players. And until Aiton tried to cheat it would have been the draw everybody thought was a fair result. He lost you that game.

Quote: TheElectricGlidingWarrior "Haha! Every time Leeds lose McDermott uses his interview to criticise the ref, the opposition coach, the crowd, the RFL. Last night's comments to Rod Studd made him look like a kid who'd gone home to kick the cat after losing a game of marbles. He has zero class.

And just to show this isn't coming from an anti-Leeds perspective, I think the class and professionalism that Kevin Sinfield conducts himself with, whether winning or losing, whether being praised or asked the awkward questions, is without equal.'"

The reason it's 11 pages, is that Leeds have the most fans so it obviously draws more posters and more comments. If it happened to Huddersfield it'd draw about 4 posters.

That's the difference in thread length.

Phil Clarke called it a knock on against Smith straight away......a decision doesn't get more clear cut than that if Clarke goes against Wigan.

Despite neutrals highlighting the obstruction and the knock on as the big and possibly incorrect ones we get Wigan fans desperately trying to make out the leg "pull" (actually leg hold) as the biggest clear cut incorrect call.

The reason it's 11 pages is due to the sense of entitlement of Whinos fans who appear to think referees should ignore their team's transgressions to ensure the win.

Are you still trying to claim there is some doubt as to whether Hall interfered at that PTB? icon_biggrin.gifRUNK:
