Agreed. My thinking is very simple - if you can afford something then you can buy it, if you can't afford it then you can't. I would like a new Aston Martin, but I can't afford it/choose not to want to spend that amount on one. Do I a) accept it and buy something different; b) Complain that Astons are too expensive and they should be cheaper so I can buy one, or c) Go and steal one?! The logic of some on here hovers between complaining they are too expensive and going out and stealing one! There are always some people that, just because others can afford something, think that they should also be entitled to have it too. 'I can't afford it, so I'll steal it instead' - great mentality that!

That thought had crossed my mind too. To be honest, it won't effect me as I have all channels currently and have no intention of changing. However, if they do that then I do think it would be a bad move on SKY's part

The commercial reality is that it's highly unluckiest Sky will be making these changes to reduce the amount being paid for their packages.
Sure they'll have lots of spin on how it's good for their customers, and there'll be pockets of examples where certain individuals will save - but ultimately, they'll have crunched the numbers and will know if the customer base remains as is, they'll earn more.
At absolute best there might be a short term reduction, but they'll be working on a longer term plan that will see profits rise - they're a business after all.

That's the question we're pondering-

If the Main Event channel is only available to those who already have the other sports channels, and it only shows the same sports too, what is the point of it (unless it shows some exclusive content) ?

It's either the main event channel has exclusive content. Or the main event channel isn't available exclusively to full sports package customers and can be subscribed to on its own.
