| Doubt Alfie would do too much to boost attendances in the North. If the club was still in the South, it could have provided the boost that the club would have needed, but the people of Wrexham seem to be willing enough to turn up anyway, and unlike in the South the majority of proper Union fans in the North seem fairly anti-league so I doubt would be swayed.

| Quote: garethtaylor15 "Obviuosly dont watch wales play then.?
did you watch wales v scotland... amzing best 5 mins of rugby ever of either code.. you tube it .!'"
Saw the whole 80 mins. Kicks to touch and then a 90 sec wait while they set up for a lineout. International hookers struggling to trow a ball in straight at a lineout! One scrum took over 3 minutes to set up and eventually get played. Rucks/mauls with the ball ready to play but dimwit 9s wait an age and the game is at a stanstill. occassionally some pot bellied prop would pick up the ball run 2 metres and fall to the floor.
The bit at the end when the ball was moved quickly through hands (and wales could not do the usual boring RU rucks and mauls as time was short) + with fewer players on the pitch was indeed more exciting. As a RL fan I see that every week.
The match was a mediocre game in terms of athleticism and skill with a fight back at the end. A bit of excitement..yes. Best 5 mins of rugby ever

| Im not having a pop. Just pointing out to some peoples perspective of Union on here. Yes your correct if you say england and ireland play an awful brand of rugby. But dont tarnish other teams with the same brush. Union teams such as Wales, France and OZ play a very attacking, attractive brand of rugby.
So to answer the questin are you convinced union want to score tries. Then in regards to Wales yes. And when in the right frame of mind can be one of the most devastating teams in the world ala the last 5 mins last saturday and the 2 recent grand slams.
I like both codes of rugby and they are both have there pros and cons. 2 very enjoyable sports.
Alfie can be a hit with the Cru, he is all passion a 100%. And i dont think he would of considered going if he didnt think he could make an impact.
I say play him in the , and he could do some damage.

Seriously - I would struggle to name a current Wales RU player beyond Gavin Henson - and that's probably only because of his Mrs. I can't name any current Scotland or France RU international players. Quick straw poll of my office in Cambridge, filled with 20 and 30something blokes who mostly play some kind of sport- no-one else can either. I doubt any of them could name an RL player too, though.

Shane Williams(wales)..? come on most excitng player i have ever seen and was international player of the year think it was 2008.
Chris Paterson(scotland) hadnt missed a kick since 2007 in 6 nations until last weekend and has 100 caps
Yanick Jauzion - french one of best in world , if not the best
PS - Gavin Henson is not a current wales international
I find this odd as any half decent Welsh Union fan would know most the England/GB team.!
Maybe its just that where all sports mad down here.!

| No offence but..
If Shane Williams is the most exciting player you've ever seen I suggest you watch less union and more of the other code. Very, very good player but someone like Inglis had a highlights reel at age 20 better than Williams.

having an enema is more fun than watching union.
seriously watch some NRL sometime, youll never bother with union again.

| After watching the NRL it's hard watching Super League again to be honest..
If I said one very big kid that would be an understatement. Think he's about 22/23 now, aussie centre, Rugby League golden boot winner this year. Please read the AUP – particularly the bit about linking to stolen broadcast footage. tb

| i do know who he is.
we not all that daft in south wales.
He is a great player Inglis, but shane just has the x factor and gets your pulse racing whenever he touches the ball. Also hes playing against top international teams 10 times a year and doing the biz aagainst them to.
not like some people not knowing who Gareth Thomas is.
Check shane williams out on famous video site namely shane williams tribute.
