This debt was previously the subject of a payment plan which was withdrawn by HMRC after the RFL helped Crusaders move into Admin.
Wakefield hoped to cover the debt with a scheduled payment from York Court properties but the PI decision meant that payment was'nt yet due. Wakefield then approached the RFL with a loan request which was turned down leaving Wakefield exposed to a winding up order from HMRC.
The last gasp was the share issue request from the fans which was never going to work, so we now look like either going into Admin or being wound up.'"
That debt was from 12 months ago and was completely paid off in a [deldonation[/delloan from a benefactor after initial OPP was granted.
This is a new debt caused by the business banking on a £350,000 payment from Yorkcourt who have negotiated with Cala Homes and represented the remaining monies owed on Belle Vue.
I wonder if, during this change in purchaser, Wakefield's Board have added a clause to allow a new set of owners/ limited company to continue to play at Belle Vue until Newmarket is complete. To me it would be the ideal for WTW as rugby team as it would mean that Yorkcourt have a vested interest in getting Newmarket through and completed regardless of the league Wakefield are in at the time and who owns and operates the business.

Yes it is. The winding up order was lodged on the 2nd December. Wasn't that before Cru went into Admin

I present Probiz, Castleford, Halifax and the WCC![/quote]
Not sure exactly what you mean by that IA care to clarify?

You pointed nothing out to me on the Wakey board; you just offered your take on the statement and the facts as you interpret them.
There's statements from the club and then there's people who know the details...get my drift?

| Lets get some crossed wires straightened out,
Wakefield have had numerous tax debts which have been the subject of both winding up orders and repayment plans.
This current debt is for non payment of NI contributions and PAYE, it has been known about for some time and Wakefield had agreed a payment plan with HMRC. Following the RFL and Crusaders actions the HMRC removed their payment plan option and demanded full payment. Wakefield can't pay and so face a winding up order on Feb 2nd. This is not one of the debts from 12 months ago and is not part of the debt that SRW paid off neither is it part of the image rights debt.
Wakefield are still hopefull that they can negotiate with HMRC to re enter a payment plan in order to settle this debt but HMRC are minded to knock them back as they see RL clubs as high risk.

THE "professional" sport!
Do's the game have a death wish or what?
How many more clubs are "going under" before some realises there is a major problem within the game in this country.
!00 + years and if you look at the history of the game in country is any more further forward regarding expansion in all that time and how many clubs have "gone to the wall"?
SL and franchising, the Saviour of the game.
REALLY!!!!!
Seems like the emperors new clothes to me, just that the crowd is less and less involved.
Framing the future was a document that had a good title if nothing else.
The only frame will be one that says here died RL a game that couldn't control itself or it's members!!
Let's hope it never comes to that but what is the future for the game in GB
REALISTICALLY?

The Club statement says "The club owes National Insurance and VAT from recent months and these figures have been included in a petition"
Included along with the PAYE?

Come on then "Mr I've Always Gotta Say Something Negative"... what would you do to solve the problem? Because constantly whinging about it day after day, week after week, year after year isn't actually doing anything but annoy people.
Energy wasted on whinging about something could be used to actually do something about it.

| Leaguefan NEVER offers solutuons. His "art" is to point out the bleeding obvious. I'm reading these posts from a blackberry and when I started to read his post I knew it was him before I got to his I'd at the bottom. He always types it up in the same awful awful style - punchy one liners but basically sayimg nothing. He knows everything about nothing. Don't you Leaguefan?

While you are correct , his posts tend to be on the negative side and rarely if ever offer solutions , better that than some of the ' Barnpot ' ideas we do seem to get

I'd rather read someone at least trying to offer a solution, no matter how bad it is, than someone whinge constantly and offer nothing. It's just boring.
