I do however freely admit to having a bit of a downer on the self titled Greatest Game, especially in the UK, when it comes to the inability to market itself, it's teams, it's premier competitions or attract cash up front, not bargain basement sponsors as well as the almost cyclical rule/comp changes to suit the agenda of whatever group of club owners are in favour with the RFL at the time.

....this is of course only my opinion, which I chose to convey on a public forum. You seem new to this concept, as you immediately mistake your disagreeing with my opinion with some right that allows you to pigeon hole me as some form of forum Oracle........when in fact, I was expressing my opinion, which is the point of a forum.
If you don't like it......why not be "driven off" with the rest of those who can't do discussion and debate...only fawning and false adulation of a sport on its !

Honestly that's probably the poor bugger's end goal. Just him and his dozen alt accounts chatting amongst themselves on a bunch of abandoned rugby league forums...

Like I said he is going to an inferior competition where his athletic ability won't be tested anything like it is now, for more money. The trade off if or the extra cash s a playing in 3rd grade grounds in front of small crowds in a small town. I hope he enjoys those handful of games a year when it will feel like he is playing back in the NRL, without the hard work.

Gutters what position will he play? I want to have a laugh at the stats of others in that position.

The talk was they've signed him to play outside centre. I'm not sure he has the pace and possibly number 8 would suit him more but then he won't have long to adapt to playing in the pack. I had a quick look for stats but haven't got the time to look properly.

How was Widdop this morning? At work so didn't catch it, is it just me who thinks he's a little over-rated? Not seen even half of his matches but not impressed me too much when I've seen him

He played pretty well, unfortunately he now has numpties alongside him rather than Storm players.

He played pretty well in a losing team. Most of his field kicking and 5th tackle kicking was very good. He defended well. He is a good player.

Pity that he has a few numpties playing alongside him, which wasn;'t the case at the Melbourne Storm.

Warriors were in need of a Stella display from Tomkins v manly but again, he failed to turn up. Commentary team bemoaned the lack of any decent kick returns this year.......he really hasn't shown to be anything other than as good as what we already had.

You fail to note that Tomkins attacking prowess at NZ Warriors has been based upon the presence of Shaun "Magic" Johnson. That sublime half back was not playing today. Also Tomkins works best with Thomas Leuluai at five eighth. Tommy was playing scrum half in place of Johnson, with Chad Townsend at five eighth. As you may have noticed Townsend is a complete idiot, with a kicking game that loses Warriors field position. Once Shaun "Magic" Johnson is back on the field, he must be partnered by Thomas Leuluai, not Chad Townsend. If that happens we will finally see the best of Samuel Tomkins.
