In fairness from what i can remember he has a good kicking game which wakey need, his main problem he is a turnstyle in defence (but many halfs are) and he doesnt take the line on much.

One year deal so won't cost us much to release him if he turns out to be e, besides there will be Morro or Southern playing next to him who are defensive freaks. Time will tell I suppose

Nah his kicking game is poor as well. His only assets are organising (to an extent) and a decent-ish passing game IMO.

I remember a time when John Kear worked very hard to stop all the Wakefield players rolloing round Westgate on a Wednesday at 4am, its a shame those days are over, Tim Smith would have fit in perfectly.

However, he is a very good player, and a good signing for Wakefield.

He's not he is woeful.

His career has fallen apart after some real early promise. If he plays as well for Wakey as he did for Wigan then they're in trouble. His worst point is his defence but he isn't even average in terms of a running game and his kicking is pretty poor.

He throws the odd decent pass and thats about all I can say positive about him. He exactly the sort of second rater superleague clubs should be staying clear of but I fear we'll see more of as the NRL salary cap raises.

I've gotta agree I saw him play for Wigan a few times and he was dreadful , he was a turnstile in defence and he did nothing in attack. One the least impressive 'star' players ive ever seen.

I always liked tim smith when he first came through for parramatta but then he seemed to lose head with all his off field issues.
Never watched him have a good game for wigan though unfortunatly.

If his head is right then he can get back but he needs the support- kear would have been great for him. Problem is I fear it is just another paycheck he is after for lets face it an easier in some ways occupation.

I think we expected him to be far better then he was. We were expecting the Tim Smith that broke through at Parra but what we got was a lad who's had big problems and just isn't the same player.

Useless for us.

Tim Smith is the worst defender I have EVER seen play, not just for Wigan, but for ANY professional RL side. Atrocious.
