Agree 100%.
If they are to bring it in as a serious ending to a game then they should do as they do in the NFL and say that the team with first possession needs to score a try to win. Very harsh to lose a match without even touching the ball.
Then again, I think drop goals should be taken out of the equation completely when GP rolls round and a penalty or try should be the only way to win it.

And don't get me started on Golden point. Whoever wins the coin toss wins the game.'"
So it was nowhere even close to a simple Cas win then? How magnanimous of you to be so badly wrong and yet only begrudgingly acknowledge Leeds victory and give them no credit whatsoever for it.
I'd also argue that it's an interesting take that Cas, who were never in the lead, lost it rather than Leeds who were in front for 60 of the 80 won it. The fact that Cas could have won at the end doesn't change who the better team were for the majority of the game.
Our goal kicking was shocking again.

I think you're reading a bit much into my post. I thought, given that Leeds were bottom of the table on -58 points difference, Cas would win it. I said I'd admit if i was wrong and I did.
I refer to Cas losing it as they had 4 or 5 chances to win the game at the end, but didnt take any of them. If McShane/Watts werent stupid, Cas would have won. Leeds had one chance and took it. Fair play to them.
Yes, Leeds were the better team for 60 minutes. But, as i said, they completely fell apart for 20 minutes and almost lost. If i was a Leeds fan that would concern me.
If you want a discussion I'm happy to have one but theres no need to be so snippy because i have an opinion that differs to yours.

You initially said that you'd be the first to admit you were wrong, but that this was going to be a simple Cas win.
Leeds win.
Cas never take the lead and are behind for an hour of the match.
Not only was it not a simple win, it was a defeat to a Leeds team that played better on the night.
Your response? I was wrong but Cas lost that, Leeds didn't win it.
Having a different opinion is what makes the world go round, but if you're going to admit you were wrong then don't qualify it. You said a simple win, you were badly wrong on that. You give Leeds zero credit for actually winning the game, we should just be grateful that Cas had an off night.
How should I take that?
And as for the what if game, if the referee had had a better game Cas wouldn't have got back in to it in the first place, if Leeds had a kicker we'd have been 26-4 up and Cas almost certainly wouldn't have come back, if McShane had been sent off... etc. etc. It's an 80 minute game, you can't just look at what happened in the last 2 minutes and say that's what decided it.

The entertainment has increased whilst the quality has decreased. That was a dreadful first 40 minutes quality wise, yes it adds to the drama but the rugby is second rate. Thats SL though not just those 2 teams.

True, yours was probably poorer as the one in the first half from Watts’ try and the one at the end from Foster’s try were quite kickable about 10m in from touch. Sutcliffe hit the post twice but they weren’t bad efforts as he was on the touch line both times. Cas definitely have a better gripe when it comes to goalkicks letting them down.

True, but since Watkins injury last season our goal kicking has cost us a lot of games.

In my opinion, I think Cas should have won the game in the last 5 minutes, having had many chances to do so, that's all. Leeds were the better team for 60 minutes, I already said that in my second post. I didnt give them credit in my initial post, but credit to them, they completely proved me wrong. As you say, it's an 80 minute game. Leeds played for 60. That needs looking at.

| We got what we deserved from the game which was nothing! Our first half was awful. Leeds were the better team no doubting that. Our right edge of Clare and Minikin is dreadful. Hopefully Powell realises this and does not go with it again. Our forwards looked soft minus Watts. Although Millington improved second half.
When Cas woke up and played from 60 minutes we looked better. God knows what Mcshane was thinking but had we won the game with the DG I'd still have said we wouldn't had deserved it.
Leeds looked good for me and will come better as the season goes on. As for Cas we need to sign a centre or at least go with Turner at the back and put Matatuia in the centre spot.
Getting sick of seeing Powells miserable face because the players aren't doing as they're supposed to.
Well done to Leeds btw. Deserved the win.

Speaking of Watkins... what has happened to him? He was utterly abysmal last night.

Well he did his knee last year and still doesn’t look fully recovered from it. Played the first 5 games, then missed two as he apparently was still suffering with pain in his knee. Back in for the last two but questionable whether just two extra weeks off has sorted all his knee problems and that he’s only back out of desperation at Leeds’ situation and they wanted an experienced guy and their captain back. 12 months ago he’d have finished that break he made that led up to the Sutcliffe try.
