Given that the Wakefield chairman is now advising that he needs crowds of 17k when that's three times the capacity of the ground then I'll have my pen at the ready when the inevitable happens. Because if the RFL don't punish them to the same level as bradford I'll ensure they get a letter from me!

Misinterpreted that one I think I think he's implying that the hoards of Wakefield fans on their board/ twitter who said they're staying away because of Richard agar now need to step forward else be shown up for making stupid excuses for not supporting their team

You really seem to be getting in a lather over an obvious tongue in cheek remark.

Many Bradford fans are ready for relegation, but the passion may return along with 2 4 or even 6 points. But I'm sure smokey will continue to twist his statements up his own ring should there actually be a relegation battle. I certainly can't see one at the moment'"
So you are saying that 'relegation battles' are only intense or passionate, or attractive to fans on the rare occasions that they are very close. When they arent they are 'whimpers' which no-one cares about, where the games are simply going through the motions and the season peters out.

and the championship clubs, Nigel Woods powerbase. They also voted for this. The SL clubs have only voted for a reduction in the number of clubs, not that it would be done by relegation, nor a return to P+R and only when extra money was thrown at them.
But hey, in two years we can maybe go through 23 rounds of Leigh putting no points on the board in front of a mostly empty stadium instead of London and that makes everything A-OK for Starry

| Love how Championships clubs have suddentky become so powerful that they shape the future of SL. You're a bellend Smokey. The failure of SL is nobody's fault but Super League clubs. Go and rant at Bradford and Wakey for not making it work.

The RFL's current powerbase is with the championship clubs. Hence there being so much friction between a lot of SL clubs and the RFL. And SL hasnt failed. Some clubs have. But SL hasnt.
And i dont blame the championship clubs for pushing for P+R, the vast majority of them are nowhere near good enough to get into SL any other way, to them being a laughing stock in SL like London is better than being a top championship side. I dont know why they value the lower leagues so little but they clearly do. I blame the RFL for securing their own position instead of doing what is good for the game. This season, the implosion at the bottom of SL is a consequence of those actions and those consequences may only be affecting Bradford and Wakefield and London now, but that will spread and more clubs will suffer the same way and a huge gulf will open up.
The only negative for my club will be that people will stop buying season tickets as the season sees such a large portion turn into a procession. We get to see a lovely glimpse of it this week as barely half the normal crowd turn up to watch a walkover at headingley in the challenge cup. But we will largely be sheltered from the destruction wrought by relegation.

What complete garbage, Nigel Woods ' powerbase ' ?
Yes they voted for it, after the SL clubs had decided on it
So if you wish to reduce the number of clubs in SL, how exactly would you suggest they do it, without relegating somebody to the Championship?
Losing it

Explain how exactly the ' powerbase ' is with the Championship clubs?

It's there in black and white. Carter wants 17k to attend. The capacity is only 6k. The chairman doesn't therefore know the capacity of the ground. Alarm bells at that one!
The rumour going round yesterday was that kirmond was playing poorly due to him selling a kidney. To pay for tickets to Barnsley metrodome given that the council have told the club they can't do their post match swims in Pugneys anymore. Sorry state of affairs!

No the SL clubs didnt, they voted on the number of clubs in SL. As part of the SL agreement with the RFL, the SL clubs control how many clubs are in SL, the RFL the process for deciding which ones.
If you can't think of any other way of deciding which 12 clubs were in SL other than relegating the bottom two you arent 'losing it' you have 'lost it'.

| I still cannot see how a lower division team with very limited turn around time can hope to compete in whatever form of competition following a promotion. I hear rumours that some championship teams will have a slightly higher salary cap but how will that work? I look forward to seeing how it all pans out.

look at the RFL constitution and how an RFL leadership team could survive and push through what they want by relying on a very small amount of SL clubs and the lower league clubs. A situation exacerbated by having 2 or 3 SL clubs not voting.
[iI think most informed observers recognise that the last few months have been more about power and influence for some leading clubs than a reasonable criticism of actual performance by the governing body. It is not a coincidence that this series of attacks on the RFL has occurred since the publication of the Policy Review, which promoted a whole game solution for all levels of the sport to work together collectively.
