How can it be such a terrible measure of a players quality when you look at the winners of it.
Strangely in 2010/2011 the same winner of the Albert Goldthorpe medal won the man of steel award.

because in team sports, a player can only achieve things with his team, its not a way of gauging how good a player is because of what the team he plays for achieves.
i don't think anyone can deny that garry schofield wasn't a good player,but by judging what he achieved as a team player then that would say he wasn't very good because his team didn't win things .
