| Quote: king warrior "Theres no i in team now take your blue and yellow specks off'" Maybe I am biased. He is our most successful captain and I do like the imagine of him lifting trophy after trophy after trophy. Its' what any supporter would want his captain to lead his team to isn't it?
Maybe the Lance Todd, the man of match in a WCC or the Player of the year in the league leaders team has caused my bias. O'Loughlin ever achieved anything like that?
So, I looked at the stats and you know what, they're very similar. The only difference is kicking, both in general play and for goal at which Sinfield is miles and miles ahead of O'Loughlin.
Everything else is pretty much on a par. Apart from , of course, the individual honours and team success I mentioned in my opening paragraphs.
So, do help me. Give me an eloquent justification for your opinion that O'Loughlin is such a superior player to Sinfield.

| The thing I noticed about Sinfield's stats is his meters per carry which is about 5. So that tells me he's more of the playmaking type of 13 whereas O'Loughlin has made almost 3 times as many breaks (in 2 less matches). O'Loughlin also has a better tackles per game average and even more try assists than the 'playmaking 13' Sinfield.

If Leeds didn't have McGuire Sinfield would play 6. He is basically playing SO in a LF position.

Sinfield IMO is a failed half back who has had to move to the forwards due to his lack of pace. He isn't a natural 13.

You would say that though. Myler will be the best 7 in superleague next year. There you go we can all just say stuff.

He failed at stand off in the 2004 Grand Final didn't he?
He's a gifted footballer who can play either position very well. Our team is built around him and he's the fulcrum. Call me silly but building our team around this "failed half back" has reaped some rewards wouldn't you say?

There's no doubting that he's a talanted player but he's not got the size to be a 13 when it comes to International level which has often been the case when facing the Aussies/Kiwi's and gets found out. By saying he's a failed half back I mean he's got all the attributes to be a half back but has had to move to 13 to suit his pace, or lack of it. Similar infact of that as Wilkin who has also struggled at International level but to has similar attributes to Sinfield but has no pace to be a top 6.
Why do you think Ellis has been successful in the NRL? He is a natural forward, the same as Morley was. Sinfield would get found out if he was to move to the NRL and would get found out.
FWIW I think McGuire would make it in the NRL, I think their style of game would suit him.

His domestic success has not translated onto the international stage, I agree but then again over the last twenty years there's about four players who have. Kieran Cunningham is labelled SL's greatest ever player by some but, internationally, he's been as much a failure as Sinfield. I would not say Sinfield has struggled internationally. He's rarely been selected in a number of games in succession at the same position. On the bench, hooker, scrum half loose forward. Either do what we do at leeds and build the team round him or leave him out. I suspect it will be the latter and I suspect Burgess will play 13.
Ellis was always going to be great down under because his game suits their style of play. Massively punishing hits (but a tendency to shoot out of the line), great engine and nothing too flashy with the ball.
I actually think Sinfield would do fine in the NRL and McGuire would struggle as he's not regimented enough but its' a hypothetical point.

Work out the metres per carry, take stuff like offloads and missed tackles into accounts and the stats are pretty similar. 1 is more defensive and work-horse like, the other is much more attacking. Doesn't take much to work out which is which.

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |
