| Time will tell what kind of psychological effect this will have on Saints.
We can all joke and call them bottlers etc but it's got to the point now where it will be playing on the minds of the players.

| Well played Warrington, they executed their game plan to near perfection, it was hardly champagne rugby but it worked a treat.
It was good to see that St's aren't the world beaters that some though they were. Some individual performances were well below standard, obviously Coote had a mare, but my favourite faux pas was Makinson's "trademark finish" going awry.
Oh, & pundit Peacock, don't start sports betting.

Time won't tell, time has told.
Millward was the perfect big game coach. Anderson could do it but ony against poorer opposition.
Since then we have relied on luck.

The effort from Makinson was fine, but the tackle was perfect. Hitting the arm.

| Wires just played 80 mins of (mostly) error free one up rugby, which meant Saints had a bundle of hard work in each tackle - bare recall an offload either.
Video ref call for Lineham effort was bizarre (no clear view of contract with Goodwin, but just assumed from both angles, but grounding not checked anyway) but so was the non referral in the opening half (albeit at full speed it looked like he'd either missed it, or maybe made contact on/over dead all line - slowed replays suggest a try though...).
Oh well scoreboard says WIRES WON !

| I'm over the moon we won but to be honest i did not expect it. We ran hard, defended hard and played really well as a team.
Saints had an off day and had a few bad calls. I thought saints first denied try wasn't a try at first and thought he bounced it, but really surprised Hicks didn't go to the video ref to check.
Saints were off and we were on form and it couldn't be sweeter.
Saints will be back stronger and this will drive them, and i hope this win will spur us on to a first final win fingers crossed.

If he had sent it to the video ref he would surely have sent it up as a no try and I very much doubt Thaler would have overturned it. I thought it was no try when it happened. I've seen it a few times since, normal and slow and I still say "no try".
The later one by Lineham was just pathetic.

| Haha, I've just got on the train home. I wasn't remotely looking forward to anything about today, but how wrong I was, and delighted to be so. Brilliant Wires.
To an extent I think our big game experience told, as it reminded me a bit of the Grand Final a couple of years ago when Cas were easily the best team in Super League but Leeds had the nous when it mattered. Obviously that Leeds team contained serial winners rather than the perennial losers that we have been recently, but nevertheless that experience of playing in finals tells you they aren't like normal weekly round games. Saints have had it easy - and are undeniably a level above, as were Cas 2017 - but today the intensity stepped up and they weren't ready to step up with it.

| Robert Hick's call of the no try by Knowles after a magnificent kick by Theodore Fages, was a disgrace. Hicks should have gone to the video referee. That wrong call effectively stole the game from St Helens.

As opposed to the numerous handling errors from Saints and some stern Wire defence.
